Western Student Identity and OWL Access

Once you have received approval for registration in your Western distance studies course, you will need to activate your Western Student Identity (log in and password) to access OWL and set up your Western Email Account.

Western will give you your student number and access code at the time of your admission as a Visiting Student. Your Western Email Account will be the method in which the University will contact you.

OWL is the online system used by Western professors to communicate the requirements of their course to their students.  It is important to access obtain access to OWL to ensure that you have access to the Course Syllabus.

Registration

As part of your admission as a Visiting Student, your registration will be completed by the Registrar’s Office.  Be sure to log into Student Center prior to the start of your course to confirm that you are registered.  As a Visiting Student, you will not be able to register in other courses.  Your status will continue for the period stated in the Letter of Permission Form signed by your home institution.  Any extensions must be approved by your home institution.

Transcripts

Upon completion of your Western E-Campus Ontario course(s), complete a Western Transcript Request Form to have your final transcript with your grade(s) is sent to your home institution.
