In light of the recent agreement between Western and Access Copyright effective May 2012, the Access Copyright fee charged to students has been reduced for the 2010-11 and 2011-12 academic years.
If you are a current Western student who did not attend Western last year, your fees for 2011-12 have been recalculated to reflect a reduction in the Access Copyright fee from $30 to $2.91 (based on a full-time course load; the fee is pro-rated for part-time course loads).
If you are a current Western student who also attended Western in 2010-2011, the reduction in charges will be accomplished in two stages:
- The Access Copyright fee for the 2011-12 academic year has been reduced from $30 to $2.91. You should now see a recalculation of these fees on your online Statement of Account.
- The Access Copyright fee for the 2010-11 academic year will be reduced from $16.45 to $2.91. The recalculation of your fees will occur in March 2012.
All of the changes outlined above may result in a credit balance on your tuition account. To access your online Statement of Account, log in to Student Center at student.uwo.ca. Under “Finances” you will see a link to your Detailed Statement of Account.
Refunds
Refunds will be issued to undergraduate students who have applied to graduate once the fees for both years have been adjusted. These cheques will be produced at the end of March and sent to the address on Student Center. For other students, credits will be held for future registration.
