Preparing for Spring Convocation

Preparing for Spring Convocation

Convocation season is here!

To make sure you’re prepared for Convocation, read below for information on checking your status for Convocation, ordering tickets, picking up Regalia, and all other things Convocation.

Checking Graduation Status

  • If you applied for the Spring Convocation in Student Center select Academics tile > Graduation > View Graduation Status
  • If you had your degree awarded in the February In Absentia Convocation, you can find your date on the Order of Convocation page

Walk-on

If you graduated before 2023 and are looking to attend the June 2023 Convocation, log in to check if you are eligible to Walk-on, the date you are eligible to attend and to see if we still have space for Walk-ons in your approved ceremony.

Ordering Guest Tickets

Tickets for June ceremonies are now available. View the Ticketing page to register for Convocation and order tickets.

Depending on your ceremony each graduate is eligible for between 2-4 complimentary guest tickets. We are not offering extra guest tickets. Ticket numbers are based on the number of students graduating in each ceremony.

All guests must have a ticket in order to attend.

Getting Your Academic Regalia

All students who are planning to attend Convocation must pre-order their Convocation gown and hood at the Bookstore website.

Students must order before May 17, 2023 (11:59PM). Additional fees will apply for late registration and on-site registration.

Receiving Your Degree

This year, you will receive your diploma parchments in the Mustang Lounge after your convocation ceremony. You will be required to provide your WesternONE Card or government-issued photo ID to pick up your parchment.

Photography

Further details on timing will be updated on the Convocation website over the coming weeks.

Attending graduates will have their photos taken at Convocation, and Western will provide each graduate with a free 5x7 photograph commemorating the event. Students must pre-register on the GradImages Canada website where they select their ceremony date and time.
