SUMMER FAQ:

Am I eligible for a summer tuition deferral?

If your Summer OSAP application is at “Confirmation of Enrollment” status and your funding covers your full tuition balance, Western will wait for OSAP to pay your fees.

  • If OSAP does not cover the full balance, you must pay the difference by the posted fee deadline.
  • If your OSAP application is not yet ready, you should arrange payment by the posted fee deadline to avoid late fees.

When will I receive my Summer OSAP assessment?

Processing time is 3–6 weeks.

  • Summer Supplemental OSAP Application: You will receive an email notification once your application has been reviewed. Log in to your OSAP account to view your assessment.
  • Stand-Alone Full-time or Part-time OSAP Application: Continue to monitor your OSAP account for updates.

When will I receive my Summer OSAP funding?

Confirmation of enrollment begins in late April.

  • If you have a balance owing, OSAP funds will be sent directly to Western first.
  • Any remaining OSAP funding will be deposited into your bank account within 5–7 business days after enrollment is confirmed.
  • Continue to monitor your OSAP application for updates.

I received an email “Summer OSAP Supplemental Application Status - Not Eligible” but I plan to add courses. What should I do?

Email contact@uwo.ca and request a review based on your updated summer course load.

I received Summer OSAP but dropped (or plan to drop) a course. What happens?

Email contact@uwo.ca to report the change.

  • Financial Aid will reassess your OSAP eligibility.
  • You may have an OSAP overpayment if you received more funding than you’re entitled to.
  • Any credit on your student account may be returned to the NSLSC to reduce the overpayment.
