Fall Convocation 2023
Congratulations to our students graduating this Fall! To prepare for your Convocation ceremony, please review the following details:
Convocation Ceremonies
Convocation ceremonies will run from Wednesday, October 18 – Friday, October 20, 2023. You can view the Order of Ceremonies online here.
Check Your Graduation Status
Check your graduation status on your Student Center. To verify your status for the Fall 2023 Convocation, check your Student Center:
- If you applied for the Fall Convocation in Student Center select "Academics" > "My Academics" > "View Graduation Status"
Registering for Convocation
To register to attend your in-person convocation ceremony you must have applied to graduate.
Guest Tickets
To request guest tickets, you must be in Completed status on your Graduation Status page in Student Center.
All guests must have a ticket to attend.
Walk-On
If you graduated before 2023 and are looking to attend the October 2023 Convocation, log in to check if you are eligible to Walk-on, the date you are eligible to attend and to see if we still have space for Walk-ons in your approved ceremony.
Extra Tickets
We anticipate that we will be able to increase ticketing to more per person but to ensure that all students who applied to graduate can attend with at least two guests we have opened the tickets with a maximum of two.
Please keep an eye on the ticketing website to see when more tickets will be available.
Academic Regailia Rental
All students who are planning to attend Convocation must pre-order their Convocation gown and hood at the Bookstore website, bookstore.uwo.ca/convocation.
Order your regalia before September 29, 2023. If you missed this deadline, arrive early to Mustang Lounge on the day of your ceremony to rent on the spot regalia.
Additional fees will apply for late registration and on-site registration.
Photography
Attending graduates will have their photos taken at Convocation, and Western will provide each graduate with a free 5x7 photograph commemorating the event. Students must pre-register on the GradImages Canada website where they select their ceremony date and time.
Western Alumni will be celebrating our newest alumni with complimentary photos with instant downloads. Following the ceremony, visit us in front of University College, Lawson Hall, inside D. B. Weldon Library and Mustang Lounge – West with your degree pick up.
Not attending convocation?
If you are unable attend your convocation ceremony, your diploma will be available for pickup in-person from Student Central 3 business days following the date of your scheduled ceremony.
If you are unable to obtain your diploma in-person you can request your diploma to be mailed via Student Center under Academics > Graduation > Diploma Mailing it can take up to 3 weeks after your convocation date). Online payment must be made by VISA or MasterCard only through our secure ecommerce system.
